Our Mission

Romans Gift Project restores hope and provides relief for those in need by cultivating the power of community giving through awareness and holistic outreach initiatives. As we come together as one we foster sustained faith through Hope Missions that promotes a consciousness to give freely to strengthen the community.

About

In June 2014, Romans Gift Project was birthed through a simple gesture of giving a fruit cup to a lady who was homeless and asking for money. The lady accepted with gratitude and reflected a spark of Hope in her eyes. This encounter was the birth of God's vision to inspire many others to give freely. "Giving is a gift that has the power to release a spirit of hope for those who may feel lost in adversity. It is easy to underestimate the power of giving, but as our faith grows and our perceptions are broaden we come to realize that a simple gesture can plant a life changing seed" Latosha Frye, Founder Romans Gift Project (RGP) officially launched in August 2014 with their first community fellowship to prepare "Hopebags" for the homeless population, with over 30 guests donating toiletry items, snacks, waters, and creation of inspirational messages of Hope. It was the first mission that challenged guests to keep personally made Hopebags in their cars for distribution. Since being established, RGP has successfully united the community in over 7 fellowship events to prepare over 900 Hopebags for the homeless community and other together with at risk populations. To date over 800 of these hope bags have been assemble to keep in vehicles for distribution in Richmond VA, Tri-city areas, Northern VA, and other states along the east coast. Guest continually report that giving with RGP has been one of the most liberating feelings ever experienced. RGP has partnered with community ministries, organizations, businesses, and families to host hope fellowships such as Liberation Church, Impact Rich Life, Damsel in Defense, and Cutting the Budget. More recently, RGP has expanded their fellowship projects to benefit other populations in need of hope, such as Grace Home Ministries, a maternity home for pregnant teens.

Community Goals

Romans Gift Project's mission is to continue cultivating the spirit of giving hope with outreach projects, community awareness, and establishment of resource centers to holistically serve the needs of those faced with adversity. As we expand our extended outreach initiatives, we desire to host awareness fellowships for a chosen non-profit or ministry that serves a population in need. As a community beneficiary we will support them with a Hopebag project while bringing awareness to their cause.
